Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a 2 1/2 mile, paved, oval located on the west side of Indianapolis.   Built originally as a test facility for the burgeoning Indiana car industry, the track was paved with 3.2 million bricks.  Since then, the Indy Motor Speedway has hosted one of the most famous races in the world -- the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

Directions:  The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is located about 4 miles west of downtown on 16TH Street, minutes from Indianapolis International Airport.

From I-465: Take Exit 16A, Crawfordsville Rd.  Head east approximately 1.5 miles; the Speedway is located on the north east corner of Crawfordsville and Georgetown Roads.
